Ashley Sawyer

Ashley Sawyer

My name is Ashley Sawyer. Currently, I am a mom of 2 boys-Owen and Oliver and the wife to my best friend, Tim. I have been living with an eating disorder for longer than I can remember-it used to feel like my identity. I had combo of everything depending on the day; however, my biggest behavior was bulimia (spitting/chewing all my food and excessive exercising). I lived in a world where perfection was key, and I fought hard to maintain this perfect facade. Despite the overwhelming anxiety and abusive self-talk I engaged in, I finally grew tired and asked for help. I was 22 when I had begun treatment-I was in treatment for 4 years. After 15 years, I am finally at peace with the disorder; it no longer controls my life. I teach high school English and coach soccer. I love being active, spending time outside, and reading.
