Daania Shakir

Hello! I’m Daania Shakir. I’m currently eight months in recovery from atypical anorexia, but before then, it was extremely difficult for me to get help because I felt ashamed. During my senior year in college, I reached my lowest point but was so fortunate to receive help from my professor who encouraged me to begin therapy, and ever since, I’ve been slowly and steadily recovering. I’ve always felt like an outsider because of my ED, so I started a recovery blog to connect with others. Having a supportive community and a place to express myself has had an extremely positive impact on my recovery and given me a platform to be of some help or inspiration to others.
