A Poem: I Am Not Listening

You’re there in the morning
You’re there in the night
You don’t leave me alone,

Unless I stand up and fight.

I am not listening to you
I will fight from within
You think I will give up
But I will never give in.

In this big wide world,
There is so much to see
So much life to be lived

So many reasons to break free.

I am not listening to you
This life is mine,
Without you in my head,

I am living on cloud nine.
