A Poem: Seasons

Come through in seasons

Filling spaces with cold air
Numbness never felt so comfortable
No fall fresh feeling of something new

Seasons that last longer

as they bring me to my knees begging
“Relief!”
Bring me relief

Seasons

When I couldn’t keep warm
too cold for you to touch

We’ve been safe for some time
since seasons change

You know I’ve changed too

No longer anticipating cold
