Talk To Me, Not My Eating Disorder

2016-10-06

Look me in the eyes.
That’s where you’ll find me.

I’m not my collarbones.
Lift your eyes and meet mine.

Talk to me, like you believe
My soul is not empty.

I’m not the struggle on my plate
Or the anguish in the mirror.

Speak to me as your equal,
As a human not a disease.

See me as whole,
Not in pieces.

Look me in the eyes.
Talk to me, not my eating disorder.
