Yoga Pose of the Month: Warrior Three

Hello Brave Souls,

How’s your warrior work going? As we make our way into March we’re wrapping up this Pose of the Month series with Warrior Three.

Don’t forget to check out the first and second poses of the Warrior Sequence we’ve worked on this year. Also, let me know what poses or themes you’d like to see this spring! I welcome you to help me make this blog the best it can be for our community.

Warrior Three is a standing balance pose. While most yoga poses involve balance work, this one really kicks it up a notch. The primary principle here lies in balancing strength and grace. Really, these two qualities are one and the same. Notice that you can’t simply muscle through yoga, especially poses like Warrior Three, anymore than you can rush recovery. The more we engage the more we have to let go. It’s a challenging concept for the mind to grasp because it’s non-linear. Simply practice with a playful heart and allow the lessons to show up organically.
